Pasadena officer fatally shot by suspect in trailer park

PASADENA, Texas—A Pasadena police officer was fatally shot Friday morning after exchanging gunfire with a suspect.

It happened around 6 a.m. at Shaver and Queens.

Police said the officer was responding to a disturbance call at a trailer park at the time of the shooting.

When the officer arrived, police said he got out of his cruiser and approached a trailer.

Police said the suspect abruptly came out with a gun and opened fire.

There was very little conversation between the officer and the suspect before the trigger was pulled, police said.

The suspect was also shot and airlifted to Memorial Hermann, but his condition was unclear.

Pasadena police said the slain officer is in his 30s and is an 8-year veteran of the force.
